Magda Anastasia Porras-Painter, 37, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, surrounded
by her loving family and friends. Her joyful spirit and kind heart touched everyone who knew
her.
Magda was born on April 30, 1987, in Austin, Texas. She spent her childhood immersed in
activities she loved, including ballet, swimming, and being an active Girl Scout. She cherished
time with family friends, creating memories filled with laughter and fun. From a young age, she
found joy in the kitchen, baking cookies and brownies to share with her loved ones.
Magda graduated from the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and went on to work as a
classroom instructor at Make It Sweet (Over The Top Cake Supplies) in North Austin. There, she combined her
passion for baking with her gift for teaching. She found peace and joy in creating baked goods
for her community and family, always pouring love into every creation.
Magda also had a deep love for television. Her favorite shows included Parks and Recreation,
Gilmore Girls, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. On her days off, she often spent time watching
her favorite series while working on puzzles with her husband, Garrit—a pastime that brought
her relaxation and joy.

Madeleine Porras; her in-laws, Jan and Jesus (Jesse) Rivera; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and
