Boyce Lynn Turlington was born July 14, 1937 and died unexpectedly in his sleep April 19, 2014. He was 76 years old and dear to all his family who preferred to have him around for a much longer time. Lynn was the 2nd son born to Zellner Joel Turlington and Letha Hollis Turlington in Henderson, Texas. His early years were spent in Tatum, Texas where he played all sports. In 1955 his family moved to Beaumont where he graduated from South Park High School. He then went to Lamar Tech majoring in chemical engineering. In 1959 his family moved to Austin where his dad was an assistant attorney general for the State of Texas. There Lynn went to graduate school at UT, achieving a masters in chemical engineering and a doctorate in mathematics. While at UT he met Jill Hankinson whom he married in 1965. Lynn and Jill moved to Dallas in 1968 and Lynn became a professor at SMU. In 1972 the family moved back to Austin where Lynn got into the resort development business, and later built apartments and a large number of student condos on the UT campus in the early 80's. He continued his commercial contracting business until the present.
Lynn, called "BLT", King, or Papa T was a real live Santa Claus year round to all his family. He had the most generous and giving spirit, entertaining friends, kids, grandkids, and all their friends. He loved that his home was entertainment central, where he was always barbequing, and sharing the boat on Lake Austin for all to enjoy. He was the ultimate Longhorn sports fan and in recent years enjoyed watching his four grandsons playing all their sports. He also was proud of his talented granddaughters and attended their performances.
He leaves behind his wife, Jill, of 48 years; son Todd Turlington and wife Carrie, daughter Stacy Dollar and husband Jerry, and son Kyle Turlington and wife Catherine. His grandchildren, who called him King, are Mier Simpson, Josie Turlington, Rhett, Wyatt, Lainey, Clara Dollar, Will, Reid and Cate Turlington. Antonio will also be missing their brother and uncle.
