Linda Gail Baker

Linda Gail Baker of Austin, Texas passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022, at the age of 52. She was born on March 5, 1970, in Friona, Texas. She grew up living in Plainview Texas, Dodge City Kansas, Arlington Texas, Palo Alto, California, and back to Austin Texas for her last 16 years.

She graduated from Arlington Martin High School in 1988. Furthered her education receiving an associate degree, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and completing her MBA in Business Administration through Dallas Baptist University.

Linda was the Senior Director of Finance and Human Resources for Austin Kidney and Associates. In earlier years, she worked her way into retail management with Sound Warehouse / Blockbuster Music gaining the ability to sing nearly every song, word for word, and would be the first to answer any music trivia. I am sure she could have won a million dollars on the game show “Beat Shazam.”

Linda’s time was spent with her friends, family, and her dogs Griffin and Quincy. She had a passion for animals, pet rescue, and loved attending music concerts. Willie Nelson, Gary Allan, Lenny Kravitz, and Dwight Yoakam, were just a few of her favorites.

Linda was preceded in death by her Mother Sally Fran Baker-Wicker, and her Nephews Tyler Keith Baker and Michael Alan Mazza.

She is survived by her Father Keith Baker and his wife Freda, Sister Lisa Baker-Mazza, Brothers Michael Baker and his wife Kelley and Danny and his wife Amy, Nieces Hannah Mazza, Rebekah Mazza, and Kerby Baker, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Linda was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, but most important a friend. She was a “go getter.” Linda set personal and professional goals and went after them. Her determination for success was a joy to discuss, watch, and be a part of. She will never be forgotten. From Michael, I will forever see her singing to almost every tune that comes on the radio and telling me the artist who is singing. She took me to see my first concert, George Strait, at Fair Park in Dallas, I bought dinner at IHOP afterwards. I will see her in every person I pass walking their dogs around sidewalks and parks, for that is what Linda enjoyed.

The family would like to thank Austin Kidney Associates for the care and compassion they showed Linda.

We are in the process of planning memorial services for Linda. We are working on the details and will communicate as soon as we have plans in place. We are hoping to have completed in the next 30-60 days.
