Lillian Marie Kostak Kokas passed away on February 22, 2019. Lil was born 90 years ago in Shiner, Texas on February 19, 1929, to Charles and Lillian Kostak. After graduating from St. Ludmila’s Academy, Lil move to Houston, where she married Robert in 1951. They raised 4 children.
Lil was employed by Triangle Oil Refineries and later, American General Life Insurance Company, where she worked as a stenographer and later as an Administrative Secretary for the Auditing Dept., retiring after more than 20 years of service in 1993. Awarded an Employee of the Month and completed courses through the University of Houston to earn Certified Professional Secretary. Lil and Robert traveled the globe in their retirement years. She also spent time as a KJZT President of Guardian Angels Chapter #114 and volunteered her time with St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, and the Czech Cultural Museum Houston.
Lillian was preceded in death by husband Robert of 63 years and sister Beatrice (Ermis). She is survived by children Dennis, Doug and daughter-in-law Lynne, Donald and daughter-in-law Denise Mansfield, daughter Patti and son-in-law Charles Phoenix; twin brother Charles Kostak and sister-in-law Elrose; grandsons Mark and Nicholas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
