Len was born in Odessa, Texas, November 18, 1948. He began his first career in Korea serving in the US Army, 7th Calvary Division, “General Custer’s Platoon” as he liked to say. In the Army Lenny took on many jobs, such as Tank Driver, Flag Officer, Mortuary Affairs Personnel and Jeep Driver for a General, to name a few. Upon the close of his time in the service, he returned to Odessa where he stayed for two years, before moving to Austin with new bride and son in tow. It was in Austin that he became an entrepreneur, owning and operating various businesses, alongside his wife.
Lenny loved being outdoors, hunting, boating, camping and having fun, but he always put his family first. He was always in attendance for every game, event, family gathering for both his immediate and extended family. Lenny will forever be remembered as a guy, full of fun and games, laughter and jokes.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Jane Woods and Len and Geneva Jordan, along with his brother Manuel Woods and Nancie Choate.
Survivors include: his brother Kendall “Ken” Jordan, wife Harma, his eldest son Jason Jordan, wife Juliet; son Steven Woods, wife Lelah and daughter Cynthia Woods; grand children include Raelyn and Dawson Jordan, Kylie, Paige and Fallon Castillo, Michael and Jordan Woods, Winter Hage, Sophie Woods and Eric Hanks; additionally, nieces Shelly Miller and Christy Duley.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00pm, Cook-Walden Funeral Home, located at 6100 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX 78752. For further details call (512) 454-5611.
Following the funeral, there will be a graveside service to be held at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr., Austin, TX 78731.
