Leon Edward Cardwell was born May 16, 1925, to Albert Cardwell and Myrtle Shipley Cardwell, and passed away May 17, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laverne Cardwell. They had three sons: Jimmy Cardwell, Douglas Cardwell, and Travis Cardwell. Leon’s grandchildren are David Cardwell, Angela Cardwell and Brandy Cardwell. His great-grandchildren are Silas, Waylon, Nicky, William, Ryan and Casey. His siblings are: Lon, Aubrie, Herman, Virabell, Myrtle, and Lilly.
He grew up a mostly in Memphis, Texas during the depression. He had many stories during the depression of tough times when there was little to eat. He worked as a lineman for Southwesten Bell climbing poles and installing telephone lines in Kansas and Texas for 36 years.
He loved music, guitars and hunting. He was a song writer and poet.
He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
