Keith Alan Boden passed away at St. David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas following a brief illness.
Keith was born October 6, 1962 in Little Rock, AR to Stanley and Mary (Turman) Boden. He was a 1980 graduate of S.D. Lee High School in Columbus, MS. He was also a graduate of the University of Mississippi, earning a Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree and belonging to several honors societies. In 1986 Keith received a Fulbright scholarship and spent eighteen months studying Germanic languages at the University of Kiel, Germany. He attended the University of Texas Doctor of German Language, Literature and Linguistics Program. Keith was self-employed as a translator, translating five foreign languages into English.
Keith was a true Renaissance man, with a myriad of interests. He was a Christian. He enjoyed singing and playing the keyboard, and playing in bridge tournaments. He was an avid football fan - particularly of the Universities of Mississippi and Texas. Keith loved animals and nature and was happiest at work in his garden - a certified wildlife habitat. Just two weeks prior to his passing he spotted and was able to photograph a small mountain lion perched on a pergola in his backyard, near Austin's Onion Creek Greenbelt.
Keith left this world stating that he had lived a full life, including having climbed a mountain in Norway, and extensive touring of Europe.
Keith is survived by Brenda Billings of Austin, Texas, his parents, Stanley, and Mary Boden, of Columbus, MS; brother, Craig Boden and wife Badamkhand "Michelle" (Sukhbaatar) Boden of Perkingston, MS; nieces Amanda and Scarlett Boden; maternal grandmother Bernice Turman of Jonesboro, AR; Bernice Billings of Austin, Texas, several aunts, one uncle and several cousins.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. and graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26th at Cook Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park, Austin, Texas.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Austin Hospice for their help and kindness.
