Judy Lynch McCann, 64, of Elgin, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, May 13, 2011. She was born on July 8, 1946 in Montgomery, Alabama to Lt. Col. Merdy Earl Cherry and Ira Wilma Watford Cherry. Judy served with distinction at the Internal Revenue Service as a Human Resources Manager. She was a strong supporter of The World Wildlife Foundation and reflected that by adopting and raising all kinds of pets and other wildlife and also supported The Bastrop County PCA. She was an avid, longtime UT Longhorn Fan. In addition, Judy thoroughly enjoyed maintaining over 3 acres of beautiful lawn and garden areas on their property fondly referred to as “The Land”. She loved her family and friends and cherished the times they spent together.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. Cherry and husband, Robert Clifton Lynch, Sr. Judy was a loyal wife of Randall L. McCann; loving mother to Tracye Jones, Cherry Lynch, Clif Lynch, and James McCann; doting grandmother to Colton, Alyssa, Katharine, Emily, and Zechariah as well as to all the children who passed through her home; brother, Robert Cherry and wife, Pam; nephews, Robb, Jeff, and Greg; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor David Skinner officiating. Interment will follow services at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
Honoring Judy as pallbearers will be Robb Cherry, Jeff Cherry, James McCann, Greg Sariti, Melvin Jones and Brian Marroquin. Honorary pallbearers will be Clif Lynch and Greg Cherry.
