Juanita is survived by her husband Nick Ledesma of 48 years of marriage; daughter Michelle Ledesma-Carmona and son in-law John Carmona; grandchildren Travis Ledesma, Ashley-Nicole Ledesma, and Catherine Ledesma Coy and her husband Phillip Coy with her soon to be 1st great grandchild Xander due in February. She is also survived by her half brothers Lou and Robert Mendoza and her sister cousin Cordelia Mendoza and cousin Dan Govea.
Juanita was a Austin High Alumni who took college ready courses. She attended Austin Community College for an Associates in Writing. She married her beloved husband Nick Ledesma who celebrated their 48th Anniversary this past year on June 2nd. She was a retired State of Texas employee of over 40 years of service between the Health Dept, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Employees Retirement System, and Texas Secretary of State.
She loved her family, friends, and family dogs with all of her heart. She raised her only daughter Michelle with moral values. Juanita was also a strong woman of the Lord Jesus and shared the love graciously even with complete strangers up to the last moments of her journey. She became an inspiration to many because of the fight she gave against all odds of the cancer, kidney failure, and even her heart failure at the end. Even up to her last sip of water moments before her departure she found the will to give her thanks to the nurse at her bedside. Our beautiful angel mama gave us all strength and courage despite fighting her own battles. She gave monetary donations to many non-profits from Wounded Warriors, Veterans of War, St. Jude, American Cancer Society, and many more to list. She was always ready to help those in need with her beautiful smile.
Mama close your eyes and let the light of grace flow within your face. Just let Jesus wash over you once again with his loving healing hands. Remember they are the same loving hands that pulled you through yesterday. Let the sun shine in your face because Jesus loves you mama. Your story is far from over because your journey has just started once again. So let your heart beat once again because you are born again. One day we will meet again my beautiful angel mama. We will never forget your love. By Michelle Ledesma-Carmona (daughter)
