John Bullock Read

John Bullock Read passed away Thursday morning April 2, 2015 at his mother's home. His mother was by his side as she had been during his long illness. John was 45 years old and a lifelong resident of Austin.

John was born on May 29, 1969 at the original Seton Hospital in Austin to Sally Read Browning and Arlin Farmer. John worked for the General Land Office as a network specialist for 24 years. He was very dedicated to his work with the State and his fellow workers were family to him. John loved his family and friends, working in his yard, Central Texas Speedway and boat races and especially loved his dogs. He had a heart of gold and great compassion for people. John was married for 20 years.

Preceding him in death were his father, his grandparents John and Sara Read, grandparents Bill and Eva Farmer, and half brother David Farmer.

Survivors include his mother Sally Read Browning, stepfather Patrick "Zeke" Browning, John's uncle Marlon Farmer and family of Coleman, John Ramsey family of Hillsboro, Tom Bullock family of Brenham, Bill Bond family of Richardson, Chase Canfield family of Houston, Phil Ward family of Austin and Bobby Bullock Jr. of Austin. He is also survived by his dog Dixie Rose Read.

A memorial service will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Blvd. on Tuesday, April 7th at one o'clock PM. Reverend Jerry Lyle will be officiating. Private cemetery services will follow at a later date.
