CASON, John B., 63, of Austin, passed away on Friday, July 18, after a long illness. John was born in Pittsburg, Texas, on October 6, 1944. He served in the armed forces 1965-1968, performing as a medic in Vietnam. He received his Bachelor's degree in 1972 and his Master's in 1974, both from Stephen F. Austin State University. He owned and operated Cason Studio Productions in Austin, where he was chief photographer. John was warm, witty, sensitive, compassionate, intelligent, and modest. He was full of life and gave us much joy. John was a man of great integrity and served as a wonderful example of how to live our lives. He was also a man of faith and, if ever a man deserved to enter the gates of heaven, John did. His family and friends feel blessed to have known him and will miss him terribly. John was preceded in death by his father, Bill H. Cason, and his brother, Richard L. Cason. John is survived by his wife, Janice; two sons, Ryan A. Cason and wife Melissa of Kyle, Texas, and Brant A. Cason and wife Naomi of Seguin, Texas; two grandchildren, Chandler Cason and Claire Cason, of Seguin; and his mother, Wilma Brown and husband George of Rockwall, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home, Austin.
