She was born on Sep. 29, 1943, to Ruby and Bill Avery in Long Beach, California.
Jane grew up in Amarillo and attended Amarillo High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Skip Crowe, on Nov. 26, 1963. He was her partner in ministry and life for almost 61 years. They had 3 children, Reed, Ward Thomas and Leigh Avery.
Jane was committed to serving Christ throughout her life. She discipled college aged women, led bible studies, and was active in the Lamplighters and Bookends groups at Covenant Presbyterian.
Jane was an artist. If she wasn’t creating delicious meals for a bunch of cowboys or her family, you could find her working on her latest art project. From jewelry making to cross stitch and sewing, Jane loved crafting. She was also a magnificent designer. Her beautifully decorated home was welcoming to all who entered.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, and son, Ward Thomas. She is survived by her loving husband, Skip, and her 2 children Reed (Nicole) and Leigh (Dave), and her 5 grandchildren, David, Cori, Grace, Rylee and Ella.
Memorial services will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Friday, Dec. 1 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity of your choice.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.wcfishnorth.com for the Crowe family.
