Dr. Trice was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and grew up in Wayne, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. degree in physics. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer. After Naval Service he finished his studies at the University of Kentucky in nuclear physics. In 1997 Dr. Trice moved to Austin and was working at Nokia on their hosted team.
Dr. Trice is survived by his wife Leslie L. Thomas; his sisters Elizabeth (Mark) Gause, Lillian (John) Murphy, Barbara (Carl) Buffington; his brothers Steven Trice, and Thomas Trice; and his sister-in-law Donna Trice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and James B. Trice; and his brother Walter Trice.
Dr. Trice and Leslie loved travel, ballroom dancing and music. He was an avid bread baker, a gifted vocal musician and an active supporter of Austin Opera, Chorus Austin, Austin Shakespeare, KMFA and the Austin Symphony.
