Heidi Marlene Burkett

Heidi Albrecht Burkett passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2016, at age 52, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Heidi was born in Pasadena, Texas on July 18, 1963 and grew up in Austin. She spent many years as a caregiver in homes and health facilities, a job that suited her nurturing and caring nature. Heidi enjoyed outdoor activities, like camping and fishing. She had a green thumb and loved gardening and raising her chickens.

Heidi was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Albrecht, and her two beloved sons, Stephen and Leon. She is survived by her husband David Burkett, her father and step mother Les and Emily Albrecht, her sister Julie and nephew Jordan, two step children Christopher and Crystal, and five step grandchildren. Her family was always an important part of her life and she particularly loved big gatherings and holiday celebrations. Heidi will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Family will be receiving guests for a time of visitation on Friday April 1, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin. Graveside services will be on Saturday April 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Liberty Hill Cemetery, Liberty Hill, TX.
