Gregorio Reynaga Aguirre, age 95, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born in Jarrell, Texas, on May 9, 1927 to Pedro and Gerada Aguirre. He grew up in Georgetown and later moved to Austin where he spent most of his life. As a young man he harvested various crops from Texas to Washington State. Gregorio, also known as George, joined the army as soon as he turned 18 in order to serve during WWII. Upon returning home he went to trade school where he learned upholstery through the GI bill. While taking his trade school classes he worked for Ward Body and Blue Bird bus manufacturing. Once George finished trade school he devoted his career to upholstery. He started working at Wesley Pearson and also Cecil Auto Trim. Once George perfected his craft he started his own successful business from home. George and his wife of 65 years, Angelita, were members of the Sacred Heart Society at Dolores Catholic Church. They also volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was well loved in the community by many friends and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his wife Angelita and his daughter, Rachel Martinez. He is survived by his children Pedro Aguirre, Mary Jane Kipple, Elsa Coronado, Elvia Morales, Argelia Diebolt, son-in-law, Roger Diebolt, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
