Gloria Santana Ruiz

Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. Last week, Gloria Santana Ruiz rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings on Saturday August 28, 2021, at home surrounded by family.

Gloria was born February 27, 1954, to Palemon Santana and Slerina Ortiz in Guerrero, Mexico.

Gloria was a long-time resident of Harlingen, TX and recently moved to Austin due to health reasons. Gloria loved to cook, shop, dance, loved to be the life of the party and had a smile that would light up the room.

She is predeceased by both of her parents, her husband Antonio Ruiz. She is survived by her 5 children: Gabriela Brown (Austin, TX) (husband Robert Brown), Osvaldo Espinoza (Siler City, NC)(wife Sylvia Espinoza), Rubi Espinoza (Austin, TX), Hector Espinoza (Bear Creek, NC)(wife Karina Espinoza), and Rocio Ruiz (Kyle, TX)(fiancé Greg Orange). Grandchildren (18): Osvaldo Espinoza Jr (wife Megan), Antonio Espinoza(wife Samantha), Robert M. Brown(wife Mely), Anna Marie Cleare (husband Jeremy), Jorge Espinoza(wife Lesley), Frank Brown, Carlos Brown, Travis Espinoza, Haylee Espinoza, Johnell Espinoza, Emanii Beaver, Ethan Beaver, Emarii Beaver, Lelanii Beaver, Robert Brown II, Rhyea Brown, Issac Aguilera, and Elijah Orange. Great Grandchildren (8): Melissa Espinoza, Isiah Espinoza, Lorenzo Cleare, Maximus Cleare, Joannie Cleare, Adam Espinoza, Kida Brown, and Ezekiel Garcia Dones.

Services will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2021, at Weed-Corley-Fish located at 2620 South Congress Ave. Austin, TX 78704. Visitation is from 4 pm to 6 pm and services will be from 6 pm to 7 pm. Repast will be served at 7:30 at 2217 Turtle Mountain Bend, Austin, TX 78748.
