Gladys was born on September 10, 1937, to Ozie and Lillie (Brooks) Porter. She was born at Dawson, Texas (Navarro County). She attended George Washington Carver High at Dawson, Texas.
Gladys never married, nor did she have children.
Gladys worked doing private home care work. She was a caregiver for her mother, Lillie, and sister, Magdalene Crowder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ozie and Lillie Porter; sister, Magdalene Crowder; and sister, Evelyn Mims.
