Lori and I are sorry for your loss . Gary was a good person and a good friend we are all going to miss him .RIP Big -G .

Sending love to Kim and all the Melton/Evans families.  I'll always remember going to Deep Eddy Cabaret with Audrey after work and finding Gary there holding court.  Always "bigger than life", jovial and generous and completely enjoying life and good friends. May he rest in peace and may all of you find comfort in all the loving memories you made with him.   

Gary was my best friend and my son. For 66 years I had daily contact with him and as years went by I always had weekly contact. I guess it was the love we shared for each other that seeing and talking  just seemed like something that was a normal part of our life. I would often go by his job sites  when it might be cold, raining or super hot and he might be  pouring concrete or climbing a ladder with a bundle of  roofing shingles on each shoulder carrying them to his workers that had a difficult time getting up the ladder with one bundle. I doubt many neighborhoods in South or North Austin have escaped the sound of his hammer's or construction equipment over the passed 45 or 50 years.  I will really miss my very often visits with Gary.  He was really "one of the good guy's" ,  I am very sure the others that knew him will miss him also. Today we will put him on his way to a better place.
