Elton was born March 1, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to Thomas Jefferson Wade and Fannie Wade. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS in 1952 and then went on to graduate from Texas A&M University (College Station) in 1956 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
He began working for Monsanto in Chemical Engineering Technical Services (Texas City) and later as Purchasing Manager (New Jersey). In 1968, he joined Koch Engineering (Houston) as part of the sales team. He loved coming up with solutions to solve issues being seen. He had the opportunity to work with many influential people at Koch. During this time, he completed the requirements for Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He retired from Koch as the Senior Sales Director for Texas and Louisiana. In retirement, he found that he missed being a part of the industry and went back to work for Petrochem Field Services for several years.
Elton loved to share stories about things he had been a part of and could remember names, places and very specific details. Many times, you would get a lesson in chemistry through his stories. He was always there to help anyone who needed something regardless of the situation. In his last days, he often mentioned that he looked forward to going to his heavenly home. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, his brother Leroy Wade, and his sisters Evelyn Wade and Marguerite Bobbitt.
