Elijah Rene Martinez

Elijah, was born on December 27, 1984 in Austin, Texas, the youngest of three boys to Sally Saldivar and Steven Martinez. A beautiful Christmas gift to the family bearing the Saldivar family's green eyes from his grandfather, Miguel Saldivar.

Elijah leaves behind his father, Steven Martinez; his mother, Sally Saldivar and Step-father, Victor Marquez; his children, Alazey Martinez, Elijah Martinez, Jr., and Ariana Martinez.

Elijah is also survived by his brother, Jacob Martinez and his wife, Jazmin Martinez; his step-brother, Jonathan Marquez; and his nephews, Joshua and Jonah Martinez; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Miguel and Aurora Saldivar, and Rudy and Janie Martinez; his Irish twin brother, Joshua Martinez; and his daughter, Maira Martinez.

Elijah was fearless, with natural athleticism and talent. Even as a young child, he would look to impress and wow his family and friends with backflips and gainers off of roofs and making unflinching dives off of cliffs into the lake. He had a great sense of humor and was always looking for ways to make someone smile or laugh. His mischievousness and racing mind helped him as he got older. He would look at things and figure out how it worked and fixed when necessary. He would say, "Oh, I can do that". He would tell you, he could build a house from the ground up, but his craftmanship and expertise was in custom cabinetry. He enjoyed, skateboarding, basketball but fishing most of all, especially with family and friends.

We are saddened to lose such a bright light but are comforted that he is resting peacefully into the hands of the Lord and is welcomed by his brother, daughter, and other precious loved ones.
