Demira received her formal education under HISD where she graduated from Booker T Washington High School in 1996. She attended Prairie View University where she befriended many who grew to love her dearly. She later went on to receive her MBA from Averett University.
Demira worked as a civil engineer for Virginia Department of Transportation until her travels carried her to the City of Austin where she remained a faithful employee for more than 10 years. She was always adored by her colleagues.
Seven years ago, her life forever changed when she welcomed the apple of her eye, Wyatt Leo, into the world. From birth, these two were inseparable and the true adventures started. The duo went on to travel here, there and everywhere to include a trip to Disney that still gets talked about to this day.
Demira was well known for her kind, caring spirit for others. It was nothing for her to put her own feelings aside to ensure the wellbeing of everyone else. Demira will be missed by all who knew her and her remarkable personality and lovable spirit will live forever in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandmother, Dessarine Phillips Smith. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Wyatt Leo Harrison; her mother, Sharon Smith Wyatt; her devoted puppy Blacqo; her sister, Elanda Wyatt; niece and nephew, Ryane and Dietrich Summons and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and an enormous circle of friends.
A memorial service for Demira will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704.
