Dale Orin Hall, of Austin, Texas, died December 15, 2016. He was born December 16, 1930 in Danville, Illinois. He was a descendant of early settlers of Danville - the Odgen, West, and Bailey families. He was preceded in death by his son, David Hall; parents, Fred Hall and Ava Stuebe Hall; his sisters Waneta Hall Hayden and Winnie Hall Prestwood. He is survived by his wife, Sally Carr Hall; son Raymond Hall; son Greg Hall and his wife Karen; daughter Donna Hall Korban and her husband Raja Korban; brother, Fred C. Hall; granddaughter Elyssa Korban; granddaughter Stephanie Kruger and her husband Dustin Kruger, great-grandchildren Braden Kruger and Brooklynn Kruger; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Dale was a Catholic and attended Danville's Catholic schools, graduating from Schlarman High School's first class of 1949. He was a faithful member of St. Louis Church in Austin.
Dale was stationed at Gary Air Force Base in San Marcos, Texas and met his wife Sally while she was attending the University of Texas in Austin. After they married and Dale's enlistment was over in 1955, they moved to Sally's south Texas home town of Crystal City, where Dale worked for Sally's father, Dave Carr, who was a produce grower and shipper. While they lived on the farm, their oldest child, David was born. Then Raymond, Greg and Donna were born after a move to town when Dale became a builder, first building a home for Dave and Ruth Carr. He built many homes that he is known for in Crystal City and the surrounding area, and also built commercial buildings. In 1969 they moved to the "big city" of Austin with their four teenage children. Dale worked for several years for Travis Construction before beginning his own business specializing in residential and commercial remodeling. He retired in 2008 after an interesting 50 year career with many customers who became friends. They came from all walks of life, and no job was too small or too big to tackle.
Dale was a creative spirit who enjoyed the challenge of doing new and difficult things. He will be greatly missed.
