Still find it hard to believe you are gone! So many memories 💕. So glad we reconnected after so many years and were able to spend time together. 

You are missed. Continue to Rest In Peace Brenda.

Brenda was my supervisor during our HR years at SafePlace. More than a supervisor, she was my friend and would always give me her best advice. I will be forever grateful for all that she taught me and all the conversations we had at the green bench and office #120. She would always tell people, "You are the good one!" But it was her. She was the good one and we will never forget her. I love you, Coca Cola. Thank you for everything. May you rest in power. 

I met Brenda when I worked for Center for Battered Women/SafePlace.  She was such a cheerful and caring person.  She was always willing to help others and made people feel welcome.   I am so blessed that  I met her and could call her my friend.   Prayers for her and her family!!!

I was fortunate to have crossed paths with Brenda while working at an Austin interior design firm in 1985. It was immediately clear her straight up, no-nonse approach to life and her sharp sense of humor were attractive qualities for the start of a life long friendship. She was a loyal and deeply caring person. I'll miss her dearly. May loving energy embrace her spirit till the end of time.  

I remember that Brenda’s smile and warm personality  was the best part of working for SafePlace.  She always had words of encouragement and good advice to make any day better.  

I have dearly missed Brenda ever since she left SafePlace.  Her office was a hot mess but she knew where  everything was and I always felt welcome to come on in. I loved how she would answer an email in her own cantankerous manner and then apologize in the same breath. She really always made me feel special.  I still want to call her whenever I’m trying to find my kids SS#’s.  She was much more than just a coworker.  I will miss you Brenda!

Brenda was a real friend to me and so many others. Her warmth and humor made our workplace a home. She often went out of her way to support me and our coworkers in big and small ways. It always made me smile when she called me Bubala, an affectionate Yiddish term for a loved one. I have some great memories, like the time Brenda helped me paint large swaths of green paint (which all looked better in the paint store) on the walls of my kitchen and dining room. My condolences to Brenda's family and friends. I will miss her forever.

My deepest condolences to her family. Brenda was a beautiful lady. I had the pleasure of meeting her in a Bible Study group. She was so excited to learn about the Lord. I loved her curiosity and desire to grow in the Lord. I will miss her dearly. It is a blessing to know she is in heaven & I will see her again.

Brenda made us dresses and made us laugh and made us all food (with the help of Vero) for special all-staff occasions at SafePlace/SAFE. She made everyone all feel like they were one of the good ones. Blessings to her sister and nephews. 

Brenda was an amazing human with a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She called me Foof-a-doo Castillano, a pet name she came up with when talking about me to my late partner, Diane Gonzales. As I write this I can hear Brenda’s voice. Brenda appeared in my first film, Purse-pective and I am so glad that I can watch and hear her even though she has now passed. RIP my dear friend.

Brenda was "one of the good ones" as she usually would call us at our place of employment when we followed through with our work.  I have truly missed her since she left SAFE and feel truly blessed to have seen her at a celebration early this past October where she shared her usual radiant smile  with us all.  I also admired her sewing skills as well as her ability to genuinely connect during those breaks at the famous bench behind the community room here at work.  Sending my love and prayers to her precious family.  

Brenda taught me alot when I worked at Safe Place always could ask her for a honest opinion and she would tell me.she was an good soul and I will Miss her.Rip My Friend and thank you for telling me about life Ms Brenda praying for you and your family.

Brenda was my closest friend in high school.  She was always there no matter what the situation was. We were thrilled to have reconnected over ten years ago. Right after we did , she flew to N.H. and spent several days with my family.  It was like time had stood still. We also got together in Dallas a few years after that and did a memory tour.  We had planned on getting together this upcoming spring.  She was a wonderful person and will truly be missed.  I’ll always be grateful that she was a part of my life. Rest In Peace.
