Benjamin Bedell, age 60, passed away on February 14, 2010. He was born on June 30, 1949 in Austin, Texas where he lived all of his life. Benjamin was a construction foreman in Austin for Many years. That was his day job, at night when the day was done, he would sing and play his guitar as member of a four man Tejano-Conjunto folk music group. He was a talented musician, and made many friends with the people who would come to hear their music at many venues throughout Austin. Benjamin was an avid fisherman, and in his leisure could be found at the many area lakes and coastal fishing spots. Benjamin was proudest of his children, who survive him in this life, and include two sons Benjamin Jr., Andrew C. and wife Carrie Bedell, and two daughters Hortensia M. and husband Randy Meronek, and Katrina Bedell, all of Austin, Texas. Also surviving him are 15 grandchildren. He is predeceased in death by his parents, Augustina and Cornelius Bedell, and his brother Leon Bedell. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 18, 2010, from 6p.m. until 8p.m., with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with interment following at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill in Pflugerville.
