Antony was born in Falfurrias, Texas, April 14, 1925 to Benjamin C. Kitchen and Laura Brochet Kitchen. The family moved to Houston during WWII where Tony completed his senior year of high school. He worked as a communication technician for Southwestern Bell and A T & T for more than 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was an active member of the Communication Workers of America (CWA). Tony had a keen sense of justice and taught us to fight for what we believe in.
Antony was an avid wood worker who enjoyed making furniture and all manner of home improvements. He loved classical music as well as traditional folk music including yodeling and polka. When the children were young, the family took many vacations and camping trips, especially enjoying and visiting new places. He was always interested in technology and science even into his later years, keeping up with the latest innovations.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and only brother, Edgar.
Antony is survived by his wife, Primrose; his son, Paul and wife Kathryn of LaGrange; daughter, Ann and husband Mark Yznaga of Austin; daughter, Helen and husband David Gill of United Kingdom; son, Joseph and wife Joan of Houston; son, Christopher and wife Nanette of Houston; granddaughter, Kelly Nall and husband Matthew of Cedar Park; grandson, Greg Kitchen of Plano; sisters, Lora McCarthy and husband Michael of Sealy, Marie and husband Tom George of Schulenburg; and numerous other relatives.
The family wishes to thank his doctors, nurses and staff who helped with Antony’s care, with special thanks to Dr. Katherine Wu, Dr. Punit Chadha and Dr. James Eskew.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 13 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, January 14 at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church with Reverend Mike Couhig, C.S.C. officiating. A Reception will follow immediately after the Mass at the St. Ignatius Church Annex.
