On Friday, January 4, 2019 Annie “Ann” Bessie Reed, nee Pierce; loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all entered those golden gates of Heaven at the age of 82 years after battling Alzheimer’s.
Ann was born on June 18, 1936 in Austin, Texas to Litten and Edna Patterson Pierce.
On January 10, 1957 she married the love of her life and best friend Kenneth Reed. They raised one son, Jody Daughtery and one daughter, Linda "Marie" Ransleben.
She loved spending time with all her family as well as going to the lake and the coast. Ann was known for her love and passion of Country Music and going dancing. She sold Avon products for 30 plus years and received many awards and acknowledgments, many knew her as “the Avon Lady” around Austin.
She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Litten and Edna Pierce, her true love Kenneth Reed, brothers Litten Pierce, Ed Pierce and Howard Pierce, and grandsons Kenneth Neal Price and Travis Cockerham.
Ann is survived by her two children and their spouses, Marie and Gordon Ransleben, and Jody and Debbie Daughtery; grandchildren, Clara and Rodger Cyr, Karen and Paul Cessna, Travis and Melissa Daughtery, Wesley Price and Tyrel Ransleben; great-grandchildren, Chasity Price, Chantel and Anthony Rubio, Chelsea Price, Katelee Daughtery , Jodee Daughtery, Debra Daughtery, Travis “Kade” Cockerham, Kody Cockerham, Kiara Price, Kylie Price, Kenneth Price and Keanu Price; and great-great grandchildren, Brayden Cantu, Kennedy Gallander, Myles Rubio, Gracee Fletcher; sisters Joyce Whited, Margie Holmes and Gladys Piland; brother Luther Pierce; and Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2019 from 5-8pm at Cook-Walden North Lamar Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cook-Walden Funeral home, with graveside to immediately follow at Austin Memorial Park.
