Alyssa was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She attended Sunset Valley Elementary School, Bannockburn School, Clint Small Middle School and Austin High School. She was a proud Maroon who played soccer and ran cross country. She also played club soccer with the Kick Kats. She gained many great friends on these teams.
She enjoyed helping others anytime she had the opportunity. She excelled in her studies and was a student in the Academy for Global Studies at Austin High School. Alyssa loved to draw and paint and had a love for animals, especially dogs.
Alyssa was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Mary “Nanny” White, and her great-grandmother, Jean Hefley.
She is survived by her mother, Frankie Hefley; father, Edward Broussard; grandparents, Rosemary “GiGi” Hefley, Mike Hefley and wife, Cindy, Sharon and Steve Broussard; great-grandfather, Ted Jones; her half-brother, Deric Broussard; her loving boyfriend, Hunter Porter; and numerous cousins.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the family and friends that have supported them during this difficult time.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Church at 3701 W. Slaughter Lane. Interment will be private.
