Alma Robles Maldonado of Austin, TX was born on June 20th, 1937 in San Benito, Texas and was called home to her Lord on February 5th, 2016. She was surrounded by her family during her final hours who are already missing her loving and caring ways.
Alma was preceded in death by her father, Eudelio; mother, Felicitas; her sister, Gloria; and brother, Juan ("Titi"). She is survived by her loving husband of 58 yrs, Mario; five children, Theresa, Mario E. (Teresa), Sonya, Bennie (Tina), and Melinda; grandchildren, Christopher, Lora, Christian (Elise), Carson (Logan), Jeremy and Jenny (Ryen); and beloved sisters, Santa, Maggie, and Frances (Gus); and many nieces and nephews whom she adored. While raising five children, Alma was a military wife for 21 years and then worked as a tax examiner while providing 20+ years of service with The Texas Workforce Commission and retired at the end of 1997. In addition to supporting her children while they were earning their college degrees, she achieved an academic achievement of her own by completing an associate's degree in business management from Austin Community College.
Mom was passionate about her family and faith, provided examples to live by, and inspired all of her children to seek their way in life. Mom will always be remembered for her compassion, intelligence, friendliness, generosity, exceptional cooking talents, efficiency, emphasis on prayer, her catholic faith, her beautiful smile, and good bye salutations of "Love ya!" She will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
Graveside Service 11:00 am on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
