Albert H. Gomez Sr.

Albert H. Gomez Sr., 47, of Austin, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, the sixth of October 2011. He was born on the thirteenth of July 1964, in Del Rio, TX. Albert enjoyed spending time with his family, watching college football, being outdoors and taking family trips.

Albert was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Hidalgo Gomez; his mother-in-law, Guadalupe Z. Rosas and one niece, Michele King Gomez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Emma Gomez; two sons, Albert Gomez Jr., his wife, April and Jacob Matthew Gomez; granddaughter Isabella Adalene Gomez; his father, Anselmo (Chico) Gomez, Jr. and his wife, Letty; one sister, Joelda Garcia, her husband, Neri Garcia, of Ft. Worth; five brothers, Sonny Gomez and his wife, Nora, of Grand Prairie, TX, Arturo Gomez and his wife, Mary, of Del Rio, TX, Alvaro Gomez and his wife, Gina, of Austin, TX, Fred Gomez and his wife, Emma, of Big Spring, TX and Angel Gomez and his wife, Elsa, of Irving, TX. Albert is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He worked for Travis County Facilities Management for more than eighteen years.

A visitation will be on Friday, the seventh of October 2011 from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard. The funeral services will be held on Saturday, the eighth of October 2011 at one o’clock in the afternoon at Promiseland Church, 1504 East 51st Street, Austin, TX. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery.
