Adolfo Montesinos, age 52, passed away on August 9, 2022 in Austin, Texas. He was born to Adolfo Montesinos and Delia Méndez Montesinos in Valencia, Spain on October 14, 1969. Adolfo is survived by his wife of 22 years, Renee Welsh; daughter, Elena Montesinos; son, Santiago Montesinos; parents, Adolfo Montesinos and Delia Méndez Montesinos; and siblings, Delia Montesinos, Miguel (Angela) Montesinos, and Miriam Montesinos. The family moved to the United States in the 1980’s and Adolfo graduated as valedictorian from Hanna High School in Brownsville, Texas in 1987. From there, he attended Stanford University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering. After graduation, he moved to Houston, and met his wife on the volleyball court, where they played in a company league together. He worked in the oil and gas industry for a few years, then returned to Stanford, earning a Master of Business Administration. Upon completion of his MBA, he moved back to Houston, where he worked in the consulting industry for several years, and continued to do so independently for much of his career. He and his wife moved to Austin, and have lived there for the last 21 years, raising their twins. Adolfo had a passion for travel and hiking that took him to many beautiful and interesting places. When he wasn’t scaling a mountain or hiking into a canyon, he was cooking for friends and family. Cooking was a joy for him, and he never tired of feeding the people he loved.

Nacido en Valencia, España, hijo de Adolfo Montesinos Victoria y Delia Méndez Montesinos. En 1981, la familia se mudó a Brownsville, Texas, donde Adolfo fue valedictorian de Hanna High School en 1987. Cursó sus estudios de ingeniería en Stanford University (BEng ‘91, MEng ‘92). Vivió en Houston, donde conoció a su futura esposa, Renee Welsh, jugando al voleibol en la empresa en la que ambos trabajaban. Al cabo de un par de años volvió a Stanford, donde obtuvo su Masters de Administración de Negocios (MBA) en 1995. De vuelta a Houston, trabajó como consultor independiente con varias multinacionales, lo cual hizo por el resto de su vida. Recién casados Adolfo y Renee se mudaron a Austin, donde vivieron estos últimos 21 años con sus gemelos. Le encantaba el senderismo, a través del cual visitó una multitud de bellos lugares. Pero su verdadera pasión era la cocina. Un gran chef, gozaba preparando manjares para amigos y familia—como su paella no hay otra.
A Adolfo le sobreviven su esposa de 22 años, Renee Welsh, su hija Elena Montesinos Welsh, su hijo Santiago Montesinos Welsh, sus padres Adolfo Montesinos Victoria y Delia Méndez Montesinos, y sus hermanos, Delia Montesinos, Miguel Ángel Montesinos (Angela) y Miriam Montesinos.
La familia se despidió de él en privado antes de la cremación.
