Walter Metz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his daughters Sharon Sherlock (Jim Sherlock), Lynda Garry (Ron Percival) and Laureen Metz (Rob Weller) along with his six wonderful grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Wally had a full and wonderful life beginning with 5 years in the Royal Canadian Navy where he was called to serve in the Korean War, which he did valiantly receiving two medals. After settling in Edmonton he began a fulfilling career at Celanese Canada where he worked until retirement. Mulhurst, Alberta (Pigeon Lake) was the next stop where he found his next passion-building his own log home-and was embraced and loved by the community and made many friends, as he was a kind-hearted gentleman who would not hesitate to lend a helping hand when called upon.

Wally lived his life always with a smile on his face, love in his heart, kindness in his soul and will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

Thank you, dad, for your kindness and for all your love and support. We are so grateful we had you as our dad in this lifetime.
