Kenneth Stewart Beckett

Ken was pre-deceased by his loving wife Doreen. Father to Doug, Cheryl, and Kelly (Doug). Cherished Poppa to Nicole (Connor), Jenna, Carson, and Daniel. Big brother to Don (Pat), Linda (Arie) and Sandy (Rory), brother-in-law to Joan and Shirley. Special and lasting friendship with Jim and Jenne Gourlie. Ken will be remembered by many nieces and nephews and extended family (Maver & McAlpine) as well as family and friends on the East and West coasts.

Ken was a tradesman starting his electrician career at a young age alongside his uncle and cousin. During a brief period in the army, Ken met and married Doreen. Along with their 3 children, they moved to the farm and made a life and many memories with family and close friends Ralph and Rose Tassone and their children. Fun times on the farm included “sauce”, hay season, homemade beer, celebrated holidays and the “chicken palace”.

In his later years of retirement and travel, Ken always came back to the farm to enjoy time with his grandkids whom he cherished most in the world. He enjoyed watching them figure skate, play hockey, and baseball. The kids loved to hear Poppa tell them stories of “when I was your age”, and to tease him about being a penny pincher and were amazed that he was able fix anything with electrical tape.

A private celebration of Kens life will be held at a later date.
