To Madeline, Sebastian, Jeanina and Gerard's loved ones, my heart is with you all today and always. My condolences to you all for your loss.
I had the pleasure of meeting Gerard through laughter. He joined my Laughter Club in Richmond Hill a few years ago at a time when he wanted to add a bit more mirth to his life. Each time we met, he would always share news of Madeline and Sebastian with great pride and joy - he loved you both so much, and I am sure you always knew and felt it! He later on met Jeanina and brought her along to share the gift of unconditional laughter with her. So I thought I would share a picture of this great memory I got to share with them. It was taken when our group was bathing in the calm after a laughter storm. While I did not take a picture of their laughter on that day, I am glad I somehow got to capture this intimate moment in time when Gerard was holding Jeanina's hand - this must have been a very special moment for them. I hope it will all make you all smile!
I am grateful that this is the precious memory I will cherish forever of Gerard: laughing with him over the years in the midst of the challenges life all too often throws at us!
I still cannot believe Gerard left so suddenly and above all way too soon - there was still so much life for him to enjoy.
Madeline and Sebastian, I truly feel your pain as I lost my own dad in a very similar way and around the same age. Feel free to reach out should you ever want to talk to someone who has already gone through this ordeal it and can listen to you. Same for you Jeanina. 
May you all cherish and smile at all the special memories you have created with Gerard whenever they come back to your mind from now on. Journal them so you never forget about them over the years.
I am sending you all healing prayers as you navigate through this change in your life.

Gerard attended our Toronto Meaningful Living Group for about 7 years. He was very friendly, caring, and helpful. We thank God for getting to know him and Jeanina. He is in a better place now.

I met Gerard and his brother in Aurora at St. Joseph's school so many years ago. He was such a great and funny young man. We just hit it off like so many others because he had a larger than life personality that had room for many. Going through our years in grade school and high school where laughing with him was so normal. He smile was amazing and his kindness a gift. 
  We lost touch like so many others but connected on fb years ago to continue our friendship as if time had not passed! I am so appreciative of his words of comfort and support during my daughters bout of cancer and will always remember his heart because this is who he was and will always be. He loved his family, his wife and was so proud of each one of them. I hope you will all find comfort in all the memories that will be shared as I am sure there will be so many!  I am sure he will watch over all of you from his angel seat above!
  Will miss you my dear friend! Until we meet again❤

We had the pleasure of being your friend and neighbor for over 20 years, and have some wonderful memories, of you helping out whenever possible, being the building of new playground, cooking turkey for the seniors dinners, or helping serve. RIP dear friend.

We had the pleasure of knowing  Gerard for over 20 years here at the Aurora Vilage Co Op .  He was a wonderful friend and neighbour and helped the community so much .  My husband recalls Gerard helping with the reconstruction of the wooden playground , which all the kids loved.  He was such a proud and loving father and always talked so very highly of his children  Sabastian and Madeline.  Our children played together and often at night the parents would sit out and chat together.  Gerard organized many things here, such as Trivia night , movie night and even a outdoor fire and served hot dogs and hot chocolate to everyone . My last fond memory that I will cherish is last New Years Eve at Bill and Cindy's playing double series , men against the woman where of course Jeanina , Heather and Cindy and myself beat the men .  You will be missed my friend but never forgotten ....Rest In Peace , Love Jan , Shanw  , Carli and Joshua Hubble ❤

I remember the day that Gerard started at Shoppers Home Healthcare. We all gathered in the Distribution area to welcome the new Warehouse Manager. Immediately after the formal introductions I walked over to him and introduced myself knowing that this would ease the tension and make him feel welcome. I could tell that he appreciated it and we became instant friends. He once told me that he thought that outside of work we would probably have been close friends. He was right! Rest In Peace my friend.
