It is with enduring sadness that we announce the death on Wednesday April 3, 2024 of Graham Batchelor (Peter Graham), born March 14, 1947 to Jacquelin Mary (nee Stapleton) and Peter Arthur James Batchelor.
After his childhood in Kent, England and attending Tonbridge Boarding School, Graham emigrated to Canada at the age of 21 to work in the growing field of computer programming. He enjoyed a long career as a systems analyst, primarily in the financial sector. He returned to school at the age of 28 and attained a BFA from Concordia University in Montreal. He worked in the theatre and film industry as an actor for many years, both on stage and on camera. He enjoyed golf and curling, and was proud to spend the final decade of his life officiating for CurlON, Canada. Graham was a talented, delightful, and kind man with a strong sense of responsibility and a keen and quick wit.
Graham is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Catherine Marshall, his daughters Megan Batchelor and Elizabeth Hopkins, grandchildren Scarlet (5) and Henri (3) Hopkins, sister-in-law Verity Batchelor, brother Charles Batchelor, stepmother Gill, many dear in-laws, 5 nephews, 4 nieces, and their families. He is predeceased by his mother, father, and his brother, Christopher Batchelor of Devon. Cremation has taken place.
Graham is dearly missed and will be with us always in spirit. If desired, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the wonderful Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket, Ontario will be a meaningful and welcome remembrance.
