Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, surrounded by the love of her family, Dorothy passed away on Wednesday March 22nd, just into her 90th year. She is survived by her devoted husband Peter of almost 61 years. Loving and adored mother of Mary-Lou (Jeff) and Michael (Helen), and treasured grandmother of Alyssa, Madeline, Liam, Olivia and Matthew. She will also be missed by her fur grandgirls Sadie, Kallie and Oakley. Dorothy was born to Elsie and Frank McKnight and raised in Cobalt, Ontario, and was pre-deceased by her siblings Eileen, Eleanor, June, Alton, William and Colin. In 1956 Dorothy transferred with the bank to Willowdale where she then met Peter and settled in Scarborough to raise their family. After 42 years and many great friends and memories, they moved to Newmarket in 2007. Cremation has taken place and visitation and funeral will be held at Thompson Funeral Home in Aurora, Ontario. A visitation will be held Thursday March 30th from 6-8pm. On Friday March 31st a second visitation will be held from 10-11am, followed by the Funeral Service at 11am and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Southlake Foundation would be appreciated.
