Liz & I were deeply saddened to hear of Robbie’s passing. We could always count on his positive comments on Liz’s Facebook pix. I fondly remember Robbie from way back at our Gifford Middle School days. He always had that big plastic jug of water, we all did back then!  Unless you liked that wonderful sulfur water on tap. He & I played marbles all the time too. And we always  wanted him on our team for dodgeball & basketball. A giant teddy bear he was. Always smiling & a good friend to so many of us. We’ll miss you brother. Godspeed. Separated only by time now. Until we meet again Robbie. You were a prince down here. I’m sure you’ll be at least that up there. Take care old friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. Rob was a good person who truly cared about people and especially his students.  We went to FAU together. He was so excited about becoming a teacher so he could make a difference in his student's lives. He did just that many times over.  Rob's positive attitude was infectious. Rob will be missed by many.

Rob you will be missed, you were the kindest soul anyone could ever have the pleasure meeting, you were always so kind to me in school and and never let anyone pick on me. You will be greatly missed, but I know you will be in a much better place and not suffering any longer. Until we meet again, my friend, On the other side. As David mentioned in an earlier comment, he was always Robbie to me! I’m another cousin that spent many childhood vacations together whether our visits to Florida or their visits to Virginia. Living such a distance apart, as adults we only visited a few times throughout the years. In most recent years, we became phone buddies. I will truly miss those calls beginning with, “What’s up, Cuz?”  Robbie was an encourager. He helped most recently with the death of my grandbaby, Wesley by the love and concern he always showed.  He was always ready to talk, share, and just spend time. I will miss you Robbie, more than you will ever know. Love you Cuz!

He was Robbie to me, when we were younger our families made sure are vacations were with family, me and Robbie always didn’t see eye to eye no pun intended and had a few misunderstanding and man was he ever a hand full and I lost alot of our friendly misunderstandings. But we always loved each other. We grew up and had families of our own and drifted apart as so many of us do, I know in my heart that Robbie is enjoying himself with his Mom and Dad that he loved so much. Thru all of his battles in life he was one of the most positive person I have ever known. I love you cuz.

Rob was one of a kind! A special person who really wanted to get to know people. He inspired more people/students than anyone. He was funny, kind, and the biggest fan of his family. I will miss him and I know so many others will as well. No words can convey the honor Rob deserves. Love, light and prayers to Jacqui and Greg (and family).

May Mr. Gilbert rest in peace. He was such a bright light in this dark world. He personally motivated me as a middle school student to become the person and physician I am today. He always kept in touch through facebook and always made sure to like and comment on pictures. 
My most sincere condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Gilbert was a favorite teacher in our family. Not only did he inspire my kids when they were in his class, he continued to encourage and inquire as they grew into adults. He will be greatly missed by many. Hugs to his family!

Rob was such a sweet soul always positive and happy for those around him and their accomplishments!  I am so lucky to have know him, rest in peace 💕.

Rob had a positive influence on thousands of middle school students during his teaching career. He taught them so much more than American History. Robs impact on those kids lives will live on for years into the future. I had the pleasure of teaching with Rob at Gifford Middle School. Robs positive life lessons to his students will resonate with them for the rest of their lives and be passed on to their children. Kids would walk into my class talking about something Rob had shared with them earlier in the day. You could see in their eyes he had made them think about how they could help to make the world a better place to live in.  His students loved him! That is quite an accomplishment in todays schools.
