Pam was born May 30th, 1959 in Minneapolis, MN to Dale and Betty Smith. She was the oldest of 4 children, her late brother Jeff Smith and her surviving sisters Julia Patrick and Terri Lee.
Pam married her high school sweetheart Scott Nelson and they had 3 boys together. She later had a child with her partner Rick Andersen and they had a daughter together. Pam often said to her children,
“If there is the one thing I did right, it was having the four of you”.
Although Pam was small in size, she was larger than life. She had an infectious personality and could put a smile on the face of anybody around her. After moving to CA in 1962, she spent her early years and teens playing sports, spending time with her friends, and was a fantastic soccer player. She spent her twenties and thirties raising children and working retail and any odd jobs she could find to provide for her family. She was an extremely dedicated and hard working employee and often sacrificed her needs for those of her children. She moved to Colorado in 2007 and worked her way from a store clerk to an Assistant Manager at King Soopers. She had a very strong work ethic and passed that along to her children and anyone she would mentor.
Pam loved spending time with family and friends and loved the outdoors. She loved to hike, camp, backpack, ride motorcycles, and pretty much anything that involved being active. She also liked playing games and doing any task that kept her mind busy. She loved silly stories and video clips and would often break out in laughter in a quiet room because she had thought of something funny.
Pam leaves behind 4 children; Jeremy Smith, Josh Nelson, Justin Nelson, and Ashley Andersen ; 4 grandchildren Chloe Nelson, Everett Nelson, Molly Nelson, and Zachary Nelson; 4 step grandchildren, Brittney and Lexi Parson, and Nathan and Taylor Bertucci; with a grandchild on the way, Ava Rae Dawn Brashear, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service for Pamela will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel, 1095 Havana Street, Aurora, CO 80010, followed by a reception from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
