LeRoy Thomas Jr., a beacon of love, generosity, and faith, was born on July 1st, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, to LeRoy Thomas Sr.(deceased) and Emma Green (deceased). As the eldest brother amongst five siblings, he was a guiding light and protector to his family. On September 10th, 2023 in Aurora, Colorado, he was called to his heavenly abode, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.
LeRoy's life was filled with milestones that showcased his love for family, country, and community. He met the love of his life, Kamala, in Colorado. Their first date was nothing short of magical, with LeRoy serenading Kamala with "You are so beautiful to me" This was the beginning of a beautiful journey that led them to tie the knot on January 30th, 1995, in Boulder County, Colorado. Their marriage, spanning 28 years, was a testament to true love, remaining as vibrant and passionate as a newlywed couple.
A proud military veteran, LeRoy served the United States Military from 1965 to 1967 during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of SP5. His thirst for knowledge led him to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Regis University, Denver, and a Degree in Spanish Language and Arts from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, UNAM. Professionally, he excelled as a Sr. Personnel Manager at IBM Corporation and later as a Sr. Sales Manager at Kumpf Lincoln-Mercury, Inc.
LeRoy's passions were as vast as his heart. He was deeply involved in charity work, always extending a helping hand to the less fortunate. His love for singing was evident as he lent his voice to the Heritage Christian Center Choir. A globetrotter at heart, he loved to travel and immerse himself in different cultures, with a notable affection for Sri Lankan & Latin American culture and cuisine.
Described by friends and family as generous, kind, caring, and innocent, LeRoy was a devout husband, brother, uncle, and friend. His life was a testament to his faith, living by the teachings of God and the examples set forth by the life of Jesus Christ. His generosity and kind heart are what he will be most remembered for.
The family invites you to join them in celebrating LeRoy's life. The funeral service will be held on September 15th at Advantage Funeral & Cremation services, located at 1095 Havana St, Aurora, Colorado. The public viewing will commence at 1 pm, followed by the funeral services at 2 pm. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at JJ’s Place Restaurant, located at 2340 S Chambers Rd, Aurora, CO.
