It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christian Gunter, who left us too soon on September 26, 2024. Born on May 1st, 1990, in Aurora, Colorado, Chris was the beloved son of Diane Gunter and the cherished friend to many. Despite the challenges of his life, Chris's indomitable spirit and love for the things that brought him joy never wavered.
From a young age, Chris was known for his fierce determination and his motto: "Keep fighting, never give up, and never give in." These words guided him throughout his life, especially as he battled a debilitating autoimmune disorder that kept him from experiencing life to the fullest. Despite his struggles, Chris remained resilient, finding happiness and comfort in the things that brought him peace.
Chris was passionate about tattoos, snakes, and all things that were a bit dark and spooky. His love for snakes was particularly special, and he took great pride in caring for his albino ball python, a companion that offered him comfort during the difficult moments. He would often let his snake out of its enclosure, taking solace in the quiet companionship it offered.
An avid gamer, Chris formed many meaningful connections with friends online through video games. While his illness made real-world connections difficult, his time spent in virtual worlds allowed him to stay connected to those who understood him and shared his passions. Chris spent countless hours immersed in the games he loved, and in doing so, created a sense of belonging and camaraderie that was deeply important to him.
Chris's love for the darker side of life extended to his love for scary movies, haunted houses, and the characters that shaped his interests. His favorites included Deadpool, The Crow, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. He was especially proud of his life-size Jack Skellington decoration, which hung in his home, a testament to his unique spirit and love for the macabre.
Music was another source of solace for Chris, and he found comfort in the raw emotion and intensity of heavy metal and rap. Two of his favorite songs were "In The End" by Black Veil Brides and "Scars" by Tom MacDonald, songs that resonated with him deeply and mirrored the resilience he carried through life.
