Retired Sgt 1st Class Robert William Sager, 79, of Augusta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012. He served faithfully for over 21 years with the United States Army in many areas including, Alaska, Vietnam, Korea, Bikini Atoll Island and Germany. He was a member of VFW Post 649. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Gisela W. Sager; son, Gunter Wulf; sister, Judy (John) Swisher; sisters-in-law, Nancy Sager, Martha Rill, Magdalene (Willi) Raabe, Hannelore (Carl Heinz) Reduth, Elke (Hans Juergen) Rohde, Telse (Gerd) Luetje and Eva (Hans) Butenschoen; and numerous extended family members. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow with full military honors at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
