Melton Jack Tabb

Mr. Tabb, a native of Augusta, served proudly in the U.S. Army, after which, he worked as an Executive Foreman in the production, packaging, and distribution department at The Atlanta Journal and Constitution for many years before retiring. He had a love for writing and he delighted himself in aviation and building model airplanes.

Mr. Tabb is preceded in death by his parents, Melton Tabb and Pauline Thurmond Tabb, along with his brothers; Edward Thurmond, Jimmy Tabb, Tommy Tabb, and Grady Tabb. He is survived by his adoring sister, Grace Tabb Davis along with 14 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and great nephews and a host of friends, all of whom he cherished.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home located at 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30909 with Pastor Race Laricy officiating. Holding the honor of Pallbearers are Travis Davis, Calvin Davis, Austin Davis, Adam Davis, David Tabb and Chase Wilson. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30909 immediately following the service.
