Margery J. McDonald

Wife of the late Thomas J. McDonald Sr., Daughter of the late William and Margery Simmons, sister of Carol Lee (Mark) Stevens of Molokai, and Mary Chris Simmons Waterford. Mother of Kathleen (John) (Yuma), Theresa (Seattle), Thomas Jr. (Maggie) and Michael (Stephanie) McDonald.

Grandmother of Mark (Ashley) McDonald, Jennifer McDonald, Abigail Huston, Caitlin and Keegan McDonald, Andrew McDonald and Courtney Nivison. Great Grandmother to Luxian Moua.

Margery attended Blessed Sacrament school, Vincention High School and earned a Bachelor then Masters Degrees in Education from The College of St. Rose in Albany NY. She mainly taught Kindergarten at Bungalow Road in Augusta. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary for many years, Georgia Retired Educators (President 2015-2017) and she also belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Women Auxiliary (Treasurer 2017-2019). She enjoyed line dancing and going to lunch with her colleagues.

A visitation for Margery will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 2607 Lumpkin Rd, Augusta, Georgia 30906. An interment will occur Monday, February 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
