Retired Sgt. Joseph Anthony Febus, 59, of Augusta, GA died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Doctors Hospital. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm on Monday, October 31, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Blanca Ortiz Febus and the late Astacio Febus. He was a retired dental technician with the Army. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 13437, and a member of the Hispanic Association. Joseph was very devoted to his church.
In addition to his mother, Joseph is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Estrella Gonzalez Febus, children, Essie Febus of Martinez; Jose Antonio Febus, Jr. of Aiken, SC; Jaime Aloysius Febus serving in Afghanistan; and Esbelle Cristal Febus of Atlanta.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 7-9pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road.
