Gary Huffman

Mr. Huffman served in the United States Navy for 8 years and also the United States Navy Reserves for 7 years. He served at the Naval Hospital Corps School, Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, and also at the Naval Hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina. Before entering the military, he worked as a mechanic at Sears. After his career with the military, he moved back to Augusta, GA and worked at the Aiken County Sheriff's Department before going to work at Goodyear Tire in Augusta where he retired in 2015 after 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion and also the Sons of the American Legion Post 178. Mr. Huffman also loved motorcycles.

Mr. Huffman is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Wilma Huffman; wife, Susan Huffman; son, David Huffman; and daughter, Dawn Huffman. Survivors include his son, Donald Huffman (Julie); grandchildren, Matthew Huffman, Dylan Huffman and Israel Huffman; sisters, Kathy Bell and Dianne McDaniel; and his best friend, Tony Taylor Sr.

A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Sunday, January 8, 2022 at the American Legion Post 178, 3219 Richmond Hill Road, Augusta, GA 30906. Minister Tony Taylor, Sr will be officiating.
