Carolyn Akins Rogers, age 82, of Savannah and Hephzibah, Georgia was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend; who went to join her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Dennis Rogers; her parents Euel and Doris Akins and her granddaughter Valarie Cook.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Virginia R. Cook; her son Joe Rogers (Michael); her sisters Delores Fleming and Brenda Davis; her grandchildren Kevin Cook and Quint Cook; her great grandchildren Madi Cook and Lucas Cook.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Monday, August 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM in the chapel.
Carolyn will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
Serving as pallbearers are Pine Hill Baptist Church members.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carolyn's memory may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 204454, Martinez, Georgia 30917 US.
Carolyn was a Godly woman and loved the Lord and her church family. She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. She was a high school graduate Class of 1960 of Jenkins High School in Savannah, Georgia. She was a dedicated 30 year employee of International Paper. She loved spending time in nature traveling, camping and admiring the flowers. She was always dedicating her life and time to those she loved which were her family, friends, God and her church family. She will be missed dearly by those who knew her, but her memories will be treasured forever.
