Mrs. James was a devout Christian who lived a strong life. She beat cancer and fought various illnesses throughout her time on this earth. She was a warrior who refused to give up many times. She resided in Augusta, GA most of her life. She wrote poetry, enjoyed cooking, and found peace when at Tybee Island Beach. Mrs. James was known as "Nonny" to her grandson, Dylan, whom she developed an unconditional loving, life influencing relationship with. She took on the role of "Nonny" to many other children as well.
Mrs. James is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby James Sr.; father, Gerald Dull; mother, Lorraine Dearing; and sister, Linda Griffin. Survivors include her son, Bobby James Jr; daughter, Janet Knott; brothers, Steve and Mike Lawver; sisters, Donna Clowers and Jean Hubbard; grandchildren, Dylan James and Elizabeth Paige Knott; special friends, Jeanette Patterson, Isabel Marcano, Maria Clarke, and Douglas Knott; and many others that she loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Thursday, July 27th, 2017 at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Langley, SC.
