Kenneth “Whitey” Elliott, 74, of Winter Haven, passed away on November 28, 2012 due to respiratory failure. Whitey was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and moved to this area in 1976. He was a lifetime car dealer known to many as “The Legend”.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Elliott. He is survived by his children, Butch Elliott (Penny), Winter Haven, Pam Carter (Nick), Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Jr. Elliott (Debra), Lakeland, a brother, Ron Elliott Sr., Lakeland, four grandchildren Shawn Essex, Kena Waugh, both of Altoona, Iowa, Katie Britt, Kentucky, and Derek Foster, Lakeland, four great grandchildren, Blake, Blaney, and Brandon Essex, and Tyler Waugh, step-sons, Roy, Del, and Wayne Siebold, nieces and nephews, Cindy Elliott, Bobbi Yaw, and Kathy Elliott, brothers-in law, Robert, Johnie, and Ernest Sweeney, and a sister-in-law, Teresa Hobbs.
Two days of visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1st, from 6 to 8 pm, and on Sunday, December 2nd, from 2 to 4 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3rd, at 1 pm. All will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are asked to be made to The American Cancer Society, Ovarian Cancer Researc Fund, or the SPCA. A reception will be held at Bud’s Auto Sales at 3427 Recker Hwy. following the service.
