Hattie B Skipper Coppock went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2024 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale with her son David and daughter in law Melissa by her side. Hattie was born in Bascom Florida August 11, 1936 to AB & Lucy Skipper. She is 1 of 7 children. She was a jack of all trades, working alongside her husband and boys in the family drywall business, she made fishing lures at Bagley Baits, was a sewing machine operator at S&S Design where she made jackets for famous people like Elvis Presley, a concession stand worker part time for fun at Auburndale Speedway, and an assistant manager of the deli at Winn Dixie.
Hattie loved crocheting lap buddies for the residents at nursing homes & assisted living facilities, as well as crocheting afghans among many other things for family and friends, sewing was something she was great at, she loved doing crafts with the ladies, and recently picked up doing diamond art. She had a love for plants & flowers and had a green thumb that could save anything. Hattie loved her family & friends with all her heart, but wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She was a member of The First Baptist Church Of Waverly and read her Bible daily. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Anytime there was something at the church she wanted to be involved. She was a diehard Dale Earnhardt fan and loved going to Nascar Races, she traveled many places such as Dollywood and Dale Earnhardt’s garage. Hattie made an impact on many people’s lives and many have stories as well as memories from her 88 years. She was loved by many and will forever be missed by many as well.
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Lefoy Coppock Sr, and all siblings, CO Skipper, Clinton Skipper, Doug Skipper, Amos Skipper, Callie Mae Oxendine, Hellen Hales. She is survived by her children, James Lefoy Coppock Jr (wife Liz), David Lamar Coppock (wife Melissa), Sharon Lynn Parrish (husband Richard), grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and niece's.
A visitation is being held on Monday, Oct 21, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Both are being held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale, Florida. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Florida.
