I met Wendy when I moved back to Auburn in 2005. We were fast friends as we loved people, dogs, shopping, the beach and eating out. She had such a “bouncy “ personality, her smile and her energy was catchy. She did struggle with depression and I understood. 
I was in on her search for a special man. I was waiting in the parking lot when she met with Charles.  It was attraction at first sight. I was so happy for both of them Charlie is a super wonderful man. He is a passionate French teacher, a great dad to his two daughters , a loving brother and was a compassionate and loving husband. Nine years was too short, but they were very happy. 
 When Wendy moved to Augusta I missed her terribly. But then I moved back to Portland. We talked on the phone, caught up on Facebook but it wasn’t enough.  We tried to get together this fall but she wasn’t feeling well and then I had a series of health problems. I missed the fun times. 
 
There are some people that just leave a huge hole. I am so sad that we won’t grow old together. I will always be grateful for the time we did have. I especially loved going to her family home, meeting and  spending time with her sisters, nieces and all the family. My condolences goes to Charlie and his daughters; her family and all of us who loved her. 

Wendy was such a special caring person. We Dated briefly before she met Charles, after she lost her pup. The timing wasn`t right for us but she found great man in Charles and I always thought the best for the two of them. We stayed friends, always staying connected on F-book. A Kinder soul is hard to find. I don`t give nicknames often but I called her Bright Eyes for her pretty eyes and smile, she told me she liked that :. ) God Bless Wendy ! Heaven has a Special place for you

We were newer additions to Wendy’s circle, brought together by family.  The love and joy shared between her and Uncle Charlie will always be remembered.  The happiness that radiated on their wedding day when she officially joined the Hicks family, though she was already there long before then.  Forever in memories she will live.  Sending ❤️ to all who knew her. 

Wendy will always hold a special place in my childhood memories as the big sister of my friend, Tammy.  One specific memory I have of Wendy is of her letting me play with one of her dolls when I was over the house playing with Tammy.  I remember this because I really liked that doll because baby dolls were my favorite and this doll was special.  Her name was Thumbelina.
I’ll never forget that. 💕
