1946 – 2023
Michael Alan Sullivan passed away on March 3, 2023 after a period of declining health. He was born on March 27, 1946 to James & Doris Sullivan in Lewiston, Maine. He attended elementary schools in Auburn, and graduated from Sanford High School in 1964 where he played football, basketball, and baseball. After graduation, he studied at the University of Bridgeport, CT, the University of Maine and Nasson College.
He started his career in sales at the Coca Cola Company, eventually moving on to Circus Time Potato Chips, Bachmann, and eventually with the Frito Lay Company. Mike eventually retired and enjoyed honing his gardening skills and tending to his homestead in Turner, while working part-time for the town of Turner and doing many odd jobs helping out family and friends in the community.
He was married to Janet Chabot in 1969, and they had 2 children, Jessica and James. They parted amicably in 1993 and he was then married to Pam McCann from 2002 until his death.
He loved sports and was active in supporting his children's activities, coaching Little League and Edward Little HS baseball, as well as volunteering with the Lost Valley Racing Club. One of his fondest memories as a child was spending summers at his grandparent's farm in Durham (ME), the Davis Family Farm. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved spending his time hunting and ice fishing with his friends in the great north woods of Maine. Mike was especially grateful for the friends he had, and he had a lot. He always had an open door, whether you needed help or just a cold drink. Sully will be missed by many.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Beau, and his mother-in-law Patricia (McCann) Black.
He is survived by his wife Pamela, his two children Jessica Morel (Dan), of Campton NH, and Jamie Sullivan (Diana), of Minot, ME; his brother Daniel (Jeanne) of Gorham; his grandchildren Marcus and Nina Morel, and Hannah and Isaac Sullivan; and his former wife Janet Sullivan.
Visiting hours will be held on March 10 from 3-6pm at The Fortin Group, 217 Turner St in Auburn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Auburn Suburban Little League or the ELHS Grandstand Club, P.O. Box 46, Auburn, ME 04212-0046
